Gingerbread Teddy Bears

Gingerbread Teddy Bears

Our teddies are made from a true Ginger Snap recipe (no eggs!), thin and crisp and ginger-y, just as they should be. The icing touches bring out his happy nature and the addition of a sugar heart, a uniquely Gryphon touch, distinguishes him as a very special little bear, sure to make someone smile at any time of year.

Scotch Tablet

Scotch Tablet

Creamy and sweet with just enough rum in the flavouring to make you sit up and notice. Tablet is actually the ancestor of Fudge and Quebec's very own Sucre à la crème, but quite different from either. Gryphon Tablet is made with cream, butter and sugar, cooked and then beaten till it's the right consistency. In bars or our very special Scotty Dog shapes.

Maple Granola

Maple Granola

Large flake rolled oats, molasses, maple syrup, maple sugar, dried cranberries and raisins, this mix will start your day off with a nutritious energy kick, give you a boost in mid-afternoon or just be a treat when you're craving something special. Sold in half-pound (227g) gift bags, our Maple Granola travels well and tastes delicious all along the way.

Scone Mix

Scone Mix

Made with the same basic dry ingredients we use in our frozen ready-to-bake scones, our gift bag holds easy instructions and requires only an egg and water to give you the same fresh-from-the-oven and mouth-watering hot scones. Less than ten minutes to make up (with practice, about 5!), and approximately 15 minutes in the oven... well worth the time to enjoy these best-ever treats.

Plum Pudding

Plum Pudding

Rich and dark with all manner of fruits, spices, and (because we do it the traditional way), with suet too. This is our once a year Plum Pudd in all its glory. Packed in a terra cotta flower pot, the pudding itself is wrapped in cheesecloth and ready to be re-steamed to warm it up. Served hot with your favourite sauce (we prefer a brown-sugar-brandy sauce poured over after the flambe has died down), this is Merry Olde England brought to your table... but not before we have aged it at least one month with an ample shower of Rum or Brandy (your choice) to ‘ripen’ the pudd. We do our Pudds in small batches of limited number and recommend that you ‘adopt’ yours before November 15th in order to be sure.

Irish Barmbrack

Irish Barmbrack

Irish Barmbrack or Tea Brack (meaning spotted loaf in Irish) is a rich-tasting fruit loaf traditionally served at Hallowe’en and, of course, for Afternoon Tea. Glacéed fruits steeped in tea and baked up into golden brown loaves served sliced and buttered. Surprisingly, traditional Tea Barmbrack has no added fats yet each slice is moist and rich in flavour.

Jam, Marmalade

Jam & Marmalade

Two very old recipes, our Raspberry Jam and our Peach Marmalade (with or without Scotch) are just as true to tradition as our shortbreads and scones: no preservatives, nothing artifical, only fruits, lemon juice, sugar (and Scotch!). Small kettle production ensures the home-cooked character of these two unique condiments. On a fresh-baked scone, it is difficult to choose between them: the tart-sweetness of raspberry or the caramelized peach flavour, laced noticeably with real Scotch whisky.
